Globetrotting couple Liza and Patrick selected their home-base of Toronto for their wedding, but welcomed their guests from all over the world for three days of incredible wedding celebrations.
We kicked off the weekend with an informal cocktail reception with live entertainment on Thursday evening. On Friday, Liza treated her girlfriends to a day at the spa to get everyone wedding-ready, while Patrick treated his American friends who had never been to Canada to a Niagara Falls adventure, complete with a double-decker bus tour and – of course! – a ride on the Hornblower. That evening, everyone reconvened for a yacht cruise through the Toronto Harbour. And we haven’t even made it to the main event just yet!
For their wedding on Saturday, Liza and Patrick’s wanted to continue the low-key, informal yet luxurious vibe we had set over the previous two days. Their tip-top priority was making sure the entertainment would be the absolute best of the best, bringing in not one, not two, not three, but four different live music acts to perform throughout the evening. From a Rat-Pack-style crooner to a full-sized band for dancing, they truly pulled out all the stops to ensure their guests were constantly entertained. The cherry on top (for me, anyway) was the ceiling filled with XXL disco balls – they balanced the mirrored dining tables in such a unique way and added such an unexpected element of fun to the classically elegant and luxe decor!
It was also important to the couple for their guests who had joined us from all over the world to be able to experience the beautiful multiculturalism at Toronto’s core; so we decided to incorporate this in a way that would allow the guests to experience true Canadianism first-hand: through the menu! Forgoing a traditional sit-down meal, we designed an entirely customized menu of food stations, each featuring cuisine of a different ethnicity that is commonly found in the villages of Toronto; then we capped off the multicultural menu with an extravaganza of classically Canadian late-night treats.
